He’d been working steadily for an hour or so when the phone rang. “Hello, Cantu Investigations, Max Cantu speaking.” “Good afternoon, Mr. Cantu,” a gravelly voice replied. “My name is Matthew Greeling. Is there anyone else with you at the present time?” Wondering why that was relevant, Cantu replied, “No, I’m alone. What can I do for you, Mr. Greeling?” “Actually, it’s Doctor Greeling, but that’s not important right now.” Well, why did you bring it up? wondered Cantu. “I stand corrected Doctor Greeling. How may I help you?” There was a period of silence on the other end. “Mr. Cantu, I’m calling for someone else, who, against my best advice, would like to speak with you about… a matter of some importance.” “I see, Doctor Greeling.” Although he really didn’t. “May I ask…” “No,” snapped Greeling, “you may not.”

About the Book
The Laguna File, details the third major case of the teacher turned private investigator, Max Cantu. After he is asked to investigate the home invasion of a once famous, but now reclusive movie star, living in Laguna Beach, Max finds there is very little to go on, since his well-known client demands her privacy and refuses to allow him to involve the police. Even though he has a suspect in his sights - proving his guilt presents a formidable challenge, not to mention considerable legwork. Venturing into the world of tattoo parlors, surfing, stolen identify and greed, eventually leads to murder.

Walt Turner is a retired teacher. He resides in Irvine, California, with his wife Jean Anne, and their killer Chihuahua, Joey, a.k.a. the "Landshark".
