By the time Max arrived back at the Desert Rose, the skies had cleared and traces of the rain had all but disappeared, but the temperature had dropped dramatically, and he was glad for the very efficient heater in his room. Dropping into the chair at the desk, Max booted up his laptop and brought up Intelium. He figured that since he knew a little bit more about Lance Sherwood than he did most of the people he was looking into, it would be a breeze to find out even more about him. At first the information flowed quickly: born to Robert and Marlene Sherwood, age 57, born in 1956 in Chicago, Illinois. Parents moved to Las Vegas in 1970, graduated from West Las Vegas High School in 1974 at the top of his class. Graduated from University of Washington in 1977, attended medical school at Duke in North Carolina. Finished his residency at Johns Hopkins in 1981, specializing in pediatrics and then another two years at Johns Hopkins. Practiced with the Chamberlin Medical Group in Buffalo, New York, earning several awards along the way, returned to Las Vegas to work in his father’s practice in 1986. At that point there was absolutely nothing else, aside from Lance passing all the requirements to practice medicine in Nevada – then absolutely nothing. At first Max figured there was a glitch in the Intelium software or there had been an interruption in the service. Booting up Intelium again, he came up with exactly the same results. Did this guy just drop off the face of the earth? Max wondered. Then he began searching neighboring states.
