Brigette Dupree had become her vision as a simple, honest woman while she sat upright in the green velvet window seat while looking out at the falling snow. THE WATERBURY TRIBUNE PERSONAL PAGE He placed an ad in several major newspapers requesting an attractive Christian lady to respond to his initial o er of companionship and matrimony. She answered his advertisement by stating that she was a believer in the faith, and merely a simple, honest young woman. She was slightly misleading when she overstated the fact of her honesty. Of course, the only simple thing about her plan was her determination to marry this man and then kill him. She would do the deed, slowly and carefully, ensuring that she would eventually become a wealthy widow. What Brigette Dupree did not realize was that her future husband Jacob Abbott had a plan of his own.
