Jim Farrell’s dystopian novel, The Last Priest in Brooklyn, follows in the footsteps of George Orwell’s 1984, Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, and Robert Hugh Blenson’s Lord of the World, in presenting a frightening future where Christianity is dying, and priests and nuns are in internment camps, disappeared, or in hiding. How Father Reynolds hated the use of disappeared as a transitive verb, both grammatically and in practice.

About the Author

Jim Farrell earned a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Rhode Island and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the Gregorian University in Rome, Italy. He spent eleven years in a Roman Catholic seminary, served as a captain in the U.S. Army, and worked with Air America in Vietnam. Now retired, he lives with his wife, Marianne, in Palm Coast, Florida. He has published twelve novels and two collections of short stories.
