About the Author
Mary's hobbies included growing and exhibiting her flowers. A blue ribbon winner in numerous flower shows as well as President of the Westwood Evening Garden Club, Mary later became a full-time floral designer and manager for many years before retiring. Her first book, "A Forest Full of Flowers," describes the art of carving beautiful wood flowers. She taught classes on this and was featured in her local newspaper as well as Early American Magazine. Mary was invited and appeared on WFMY's television show, "Sondra and Friends." Mary's second book, "Where Whippoorwills Sing," is a compelling memoir of growing up on her family farm home in the Central Piedmont area of North Carolina.
