These book are based largely on my very personal life experiences. My interest in the issues of which I write are all rooted in both personal acquaintance and intellectual curosity. My hope in writing these books on those topics are that they will provide a new look at those conditions. I am a widower who lives alone in my home in Raleigh, North Carolina. Writing has been a lifelong obsession with me. I worked some twenty years in journalism, before turning my energy to mental health and sociology. The only interest I have that exceedes that of writing is my only grandchild, a nine year old grandaughter.
