About the Author

Macon Jefferys is a former journalist who spent twenty years of his working life employed in a state facility for disturbed adolescents. He devoted much of his adult life to the study of mental illness. Jefferys lives in Raleigh, North Carolina. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in sociology and counseling, respectively.
