About the Book
Teaching high school has its pluses and minuses, so when her husband decides teaching is half-way between a D plus and a C minus, Andy Keller suggests they do something else, something easy, like managing apartments.
They settle in to what they expect to be a stress-free life of cleaning, painting walls, changing light bulbs, sweeping up trash, and trying to find and keep good tenants.
The Keller’s stress level rises when Andy finds a dead stranger in Apartment 38, somebody who hasn’t filled out an application or paid his deposit. Evicting the dead man is fairly easy; it’s what happens after he’s gone that makes managing these apartments a D minus job at best.
About the Author
Jane Capron spent four years as an apartment manager, and although she never discovered any dead bodies, she was amazed at what she did find, much of it having to do with poor housekeeping habits. A former English teacher, she and her husband are retired and currently experiencing life in a manufactured home community, which offers a possible setting for another novel.
