Esidarap: a city where wealth and political clout rule and pride abounds. The Council of Five has favorable trade agreements with every town in sight, an army on tap to enforce their wishes and food for a thousand years. Why, even the elusive mountain folk are under their thumb.

Or are they? Well, apparently not, for as the Council members are about to discover, not everyone they try to get the better of rolls over and allows them to have their own way. Now the disenfranchised make a stand against illegal acquisition, and the results are quite devastating, for with one calculated move the metropolis is threatened, not simply with poverty, but extinction.

Into this simple fantasy the author has woven the timeless themes of war and peace, greed and generosity, pride and humility, love and indifference, giving us an enduring—and heart-warming—tale.

About the Author

John Allen is equally at home writing historical or contemporary narrative, autobiographical novels and fantasy, while his non-fiction titles include a critique of prophetic literature, a treatise on culpability and a commentary on Revelation.

Two of his novels dealing with espionage and terrorism were awarded movie contracts in the U.K., and he has since written a number of books with similar themes, including school violence and religious subversion. Esidarap is his seventeenth publication.

After spending some years in Europe, he and his wife now live in San Antonio, Texas.
