About the Book

When the renowned novelist Roth Turner charters a private bus with four other Americans to cross the isolated mountain pass through the Andes Mountains from Southern Chile to Southern Argentina, they have no inkling the journey will become the most harrowing experience of their lives.

After their brother Jose Xavier is convicted and sent to prison for smuggling drugs into the United States, his two brothers and sister vow vengeance. Their plan is to take Americans hostage and kill them one by one until Jose is released.

About the Author

Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Andrew F. Rickis was a West Granby, Connecticut resident for 18 years. After living in the Florida Keys for 22 years, the author and his wife Lucille presently reside on the Treasure Coast in South Florida. They have two children. An avid tennis player, the former printer also enjoys playing chess, growing bonsai plants and traveling the globe gathering material for his writing.

His writing career began at the University of Connecticut, where he won awards for his writing. His other titles are Love Kills, PinBall, Early Autumn, The Magic Oak, Is The Tiger Going Blind? and Shadow of Darkness.

The Magic Oak has been endorsed by the Stuttering Foundation and nominated for the John Newbery Medal.
