About the Book
"Travel" is derived from the French travailler: to work hard. The word "tour" was introduced by the Cook travel Agency to take the work out of this endeavor. This is a "travel" book. Odyssey tells the story of an innocent going abroad to a world where English is not the only language, the people she meets are of many nationalities, and Protestants are the minority.
She arrives in Greece, teaches refugee orphans and visits many sites in Greece. At Christmas she and her companion Larry explore Egypt and Palestine. In the spring, they go to Constantinople, traveling by boats and third class accommodations on trains-traveling not touring.
