About the Book

Why can’t The United States solve its “war on drugs”? Why is the technology to produce atomic weapons being sold to unstable nations with the United States unable to stop it?

These and other similar questions are answered in this fictional account of “The Corporation”. Not only are questions answered but direct solutions to these problems are devised and successfully carried out by a private company under contract to the government of the United States and other friendly governments.

A German company is selling parts to build an atomic bomb to an unstable middle eastern country. The German government, like the American government, has been unable to stop the activity through normal channels. How do we stop the German company owners from continuing their illicit trade? As usual, the CIA has its hands tied by politics and is powerless to act.

The “war on drugs” continues but the importation and sale of illicit drugs continues to escalate. The DEA and FBI are helpless and the country is losing ground. The government has solutions but they are politically impossible to implement.

Stan Roman, a former government employee, turned entrepreneur, forms a corporation to contract its services to the governments of The United States and other countries to specifically solve these and other problems. The concept quickly proves to be successful both operationally and financially and, as a result, the corporation grows very large.

The author takes us through the twists and turns of the concepts of dealing with government bureaucracy, blended with the authenticity and realism of intricate covert operations with knife edged suspense, and implemented by an unusual but very adept cast of characters.

About the Author

Mr. Schultz was born and raised in Pennsylvania, as an orphan, by Polish immigrants who instilled a value system based on their catholic heritage.

Schultz graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State and also with a degree in Business Administration and Economics from Rollins College in Florida.

Immediately after graduation, he became employed as an engineer in various capacities; with the Federal Government in Washington, and with also various "high tech" companies such as Western Electric, RCA, and Bell Telephone Laboratories. It was at Bell Labs that he got some writing experience, as a Technical Writer.

But it was the experience gained at IBM, which he joined immediately after leaving Bell Labs, which made a significant change to his ability as a writer. He now could build a story line which, although fictional, is based on real experiences.

Schultz started his career at IBM as a Launch Engineer on the Saturn/Apollo program at Cape Canaveral Florida during this country's exciting manned moon launch program. In this capacity, he was involved in all the Apollo launches from Apollo 1 through Apollo 13.

After Apollo 13, IBM transferred Schultz to their Federal Systems Division in suburban Washington where he was involved in the production of Naval Sonar Systems for Atomic submarines. It was in this capacity when he began traveling on a worldwide level and dealing with foreign industrialists who acted as sub-contractors to IBM.

The foreign travel continued and increased substantially with his new assignment in Boca Raton, Florida to develop the first IBM Personal Computer. Here he assumed the management of an engineering organization with 30-40 engineers who regularly traveled the world, again dealing with foreign industrialists. Some of these assignments were in hot spots such as the Middle East, Korea and Eastern Europe during the "cold war".

Schultz left IBM after 23 years with an early retirement and took a job as a police detective in Florida. There he worked primarily with "white collar" crime and solved some very significant cases.

Today, along with writing, he acts as a Consultant to the P.C. and Telecommunications industries.
