Adrienne Wolfert, B.A., Barnard College, ?45, MFA, Vermont College, ?66, is author of two novels and several collections of poetry. Her poems have been recorded at the Library of Congress on invitation of William Meredith. For seven years, she wrote a column for the Connecticut Jewish Ledger called Silence is Intolerable.
She won two Connecticut State Commission on the Arts Grants for her novels, American People and?Twelve O?clock Bus. Mount of Vision was runner-up in the AWP, American Writers Program Award. She was the alternate in the Delacorte Books for Young Readers Award.
She was a fellow at Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Yaddo and Millay Colony for the Arts. She has read her work widely in New York and New England areas, besides teaching writing at Skidmore College, Fairfield University and other universities. Her favorite honor was to be an exchange fiction writer with Peredelkino Writers? Colony in Moscow.
Adrienne was an editor of Poet Lore for many years, and is now a contributing short story editor to The Country and Abroad.
