Author Solutions Distributing New Titles through Google eBooks

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (Jan. 4, 2011)Author Solutions (ASI), the world leader in indie book publishing, announced today that Google will distribute all new black-and-white titles from ASI imprints AuthorHouse, iUniverse, Trafford Publishing, and Xlibris; as well as titles from ASI partnership brands Balboa Press and WestBow Press; through the newly-launched Google eBooks.

“Google eBooks could very likely change the way publishing views book and content distribution, and we are pleased to be an early adopter of this model,” said Kevin Weiss, ASI president and chief executive officer. “It’s yet another opportunity for emerging authors to cast aside the obstacles of traditional distribution options and make their works available to readers worldwide.”

Google eBook is a device-independent distribution platform, which means that books downloaded through the portal will be accessible through any Web-enabled computer, mobile phone or eReader. This provides an advantage over other digital platforms, as it doesn’t bind readers to a single device.

A default price of $3.99 will be set for every ASI title made available through Google eBooks, but each author will have the opportunity to set his or her price below $3.99. Distribution of ASI titles through Google eBooks will be included as a free service for all new black-and-white ASI titles.
