Hero stood up and extended his hand to Olivia. She took his hand and stood up with him. Hero led Olivia over to the semi-mangled door and opened it so that everyone could see outside.
“Alright, Olivia and I will go now and we’ll spread the word throughout the cities of Feliz and Navidad,” Hero announced. “We’ll make sure that every person in every home knows to hang their stockings tonight and then to check the stockings and under the trees at midnight. We’re going to have to go now though to have enough time.”
“That still leaves the last problem though,” Olivia said. “How to get the sleigh full of toys and goodies where we need it to be. I mean, there is this great reindeer team out here, but sadly the only one that can fly is Rudolph, and he’s not even a part of that reindeer team.”
Olivia gestured to Dasher and the other reindeer which were roaming about just outside of the structure. They were indeed a super fantastic reindeer squad, arguably the best reindeer team ever assembled. However, even they couldn’t hide themselves and a large sleigh in order to sneak toys and goodies to the city folk of Feliz and Navidad. Unless…..
Walter the angel was getting just as excited as the group he viewed below, and now he knew that it was time to pull out a second special power given to him by the Lord. Walter decided to use his miracle feat and apply it to solve this problem. Walter saw all eight reindeer milling about just outside the structure, so he thought he’d have a little flair for the dramatic at that exact moment. Walter sent his miracle at each one of the eight reindeer!
Just like that, Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen all began to float up into the air!
“Uh, how’d you do that?” Hero asked Olivia as the sight of eight reindeer in the air was quite stunning, even when he’d seen Rudolph fly for years.
Nicholas and all the others flocked to the door and went outside to watch all of the reindeer move around above the ground. The reindeer were as surprised by this development as everyone else, and they were somewhat befuddled by how to move around and control themselves while up in the air. Rudolph flew through the clumsily flailing reindeer and landed on the ground to view the chaotic ballet of reindeer.
“Okay, I guess that line of the song does make some sense,” Nicholas said. “Every mother’s child is gonna spy to see if reindeer really know how to fly.”
“So, these reindeer can fly!” Shelby said. “That does it then, right? We have it covered. The reindeer can pull the sleigh and Nicholas in the air and land on rooftops. You know, up on the housetop, reindeer pause, out jumps good old Nicholas Claus!”
“No, no, that doesn’t really sound right,” Nicholas said. “I need something different, a different name, a different label. I need something that would strike fear into the hearts of the trolls if they knew I was coming, just in case.”
“What about taking what they called me?” Caleb offered. “I never liked the name Santa Claws anyway!”
“That is exactly it!” Nicholas Claus exclaimed. “I’m no longer just Nicholas Claus. You can all call me Santa Claus, the one to restore Christmas spirit and make trolls cower in fear!”
“Okay, okay, let’s not get too big a head here,” Shelby calmed him down a little. “I mean, it’s awesome that you’re going to be the one doing this, but let’s not quite make you a saint just yet! It might be a little early for that.”
“Maybe, we do need to just let it all out, Shelby,” Hero said. “Think about it, St. Nicholas does have a nice ring to it or maybe just St. Nick for short.”
Shelby chuckled a little and replied, “I’m just saying that we don’t want to get too cocky here. We don’t want to get too excited. It’s just a plan.”
