About the Author

Yma Orné Campbell is a Marriage and Family Therapist, parent educator and coach, college educator, and published author whose professional work has centered on strengthening children, parents, and families. With extensive experience working with children and families within the child welfare system, Yma has gained a unique understanding of family relationships, childhood experiences, parenting challenges, communication, and the importance of providing children with positive guidance from an early age. Her professional journey has allowed her to work with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Yma holds a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and continues to advance her education through doctoral-level study in Marriage and Family Therapy with a concentration in Child and Adolescent Therapy. In addition to her clinical work, she serves as a college educator and provides parenting education and coaching to help parents and caregivers develop healthier communication, stronger relationships, and more effective parenting practices. As a published author, Yma uses writing as another way to educate, encourage, and connect with children and families. Her experiences as a therapist, parent educator, child welfare professional, educator, author, and mother have shaped her belief that some of life's most meaningful lessons begin with simple everyday interactions.
