About the Book
Quiet Eloquence explores the poetry inherent to things in the silent, unspoken language objects carry within them, in the quiet mysteries they protect, and in the memories they trigger simply by being seen. The book is a personal carousel of reveries, spun from whimsy and wonder, a fragile archive of things long past, of dreams once dreamt, of loves that have since faded into memory, and of poetry left forever, tenderly, unfinished. It is a wondrous stroll through the corridors of one’s own imagination, a journey undertaken through the enchanting charm of found objects, each one, at last, discovering a new home within the safe confines of a box. Each assemblage highlighted in the book holds within it a fragment of a life lived: a memory, a longing, a moment that once belonged only to the author, now offered up, gently, for others to witness. In this act of sharing, something intimate becomes communal; something once held close is set down, softly, in the open, not to be explained or fully understood, but simply to be seen.
