A reader of these stories is introduced to a lifestyle still existing in the southern Appalachians. All of the other stories are also based on genuine incidents, carefully altered or combined with other occurrences to preserve the anonymous characters

About the Author

Karen Karper Fredette, a published author since 1970, lives with her husband Paul in southern Appalachia and presents the unique culture, dialect, and heritage preserved by descendants of the rst Scots Irish settlers. Her stories are inspired by real events she’s learned of in the past thirty years.
