About the Book

What Was I thinking?
And Other Deep Musings

By Mark Carlson

Well he is back again, but this time Mark Carlson is not specifically writing about his two Guide Dogs, Musket and Saffron. But don’t despair! Saffron does appear in his newest book, which is a collection of fiction and non-fiction, stories and essays, humor and commentary, rants and musings.
In this book you will find that Mark has a lot to say, and he is at last going to get it off his hard drive and into print. These are things he has been writing for more than two decades but had nowhere to put them.
Some are serious and meant to be compelling, while others are funny and meant to make you laugh. A few may make you cry, and I hope a few will make you give some serious thought to the subject.

But wait! Just as in those late-night infomercials, there’s more! Also included are previously unpublished works by some of Mark’s friends. He included them because not only are they deeply profound but wonderful to read.

Anyone who had read Confessions of a Guide Dog – The blonde Leading the Blind, and Confessions of a Labradiva – Another Blonde Leading the Blind will not be disappointed to read some more of Mark’s musings and occasional rants. Even though he is totally blind and has been for nearly twenty years, Mark has an insight to life, the universe and almost everything.
you may already have noticed Mark has a rather whimsical sense of humor. He sometimes sees himself as the next Dave Barry or Douglas Adams, with a dollop of Mark Twain, a pinch of Dorothy Parker and a twist of Will Rogers.

But he does have a serious side. As a student of history, Mark has seen a lot of the past and has watched history repeat itself, for better and for worse. While you may or may not agree with some of his ideas and opinions, you are bound to be captivated. However your opinions run, Mark will always be a devoted fan of the First Amendment.
So Sit back with a mug of hot cocoa and prepare to take a ride into a truly warped mind.
