About the Book

The story starts at the end of the Civil War.  Thousands of Confederate soldiers are paroled and told to return to their homes the best way they can. Our story is about three of these Confederate veterans going home but soon find they are traveling about a day’s ride behind a group of Confederate deserters that are marauding and creating terror on the defenseless farms and small towns they come across.  The deserters’ actions hit home and become personal when they attack and ravage the home adjacent to one of our hero’s land  They murder the father of one our hero’s fiancée and assault and traumatize his fiancée. A cross-country chase occurs, where our heroes are surprised to find that the leader of the deserters is someone from their past.  They finally catch up to the deserters, and a violent, western, justice is played out.  Action, action, and more action with just a touch of romance thrown in to keep it entertaining.
