About the Author
Elias Camacho was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, a city that has remained an integral part of his life. He served six years in the military during the Vietnam War, an experience that deeply influenced his perspective and character. After his military service, Elias joined the El Paso Police Department. Over the next 22 years, he advanced to the position of police detective, handling a wide range of cases with dedication and integrity. Upon retirement, he continued his law enforcement work in Mexico, serving for 17 years as a special agent in the foreign operations unit with a Special Texas Ranger commission. Elias is married and has two living children. He also honors the memory of his late son, keeping his family’s story close to his heart. His strong connection to El Paso and his heritage remain central to his identity. Elias has self-published five books, including one focused on the history of the Alamo and another on his experiences working in Mexico. Through his writing, he demonstrates a deep commitment to sharing stories and preserving important aspects of history.
