About the Book
This collection of essays is based on the author’s experiences during a half century of medical practice as well as insights derived from his extensive studies in history. The central theme is that despite remarkable scientific advances, erosion of the intimate doctor-patient relationship often suggests a large orchestra that lacks a conductor.
