About the Author
The author is not a professional chef, however he has been blessed with a talent for cooking and has always has a strong love for good cuisine. Both of his parents were restaurant owners, and they both adored cooking. In this day and age of fast food, the author emphasizes the importance of home cooking. The author say, “ My parents always told me that I had to educate my palate, and I have come to believe that they were right.” His father’s side has his roots in Burgundy, and his mother’s in both the Bordeaux region, and the Piedmont in northern Italy. The contrasting fl avors pf his parents’ cuisines made the savors of their home cooking even more delicious. Guy has lived in Chiba Prefecture for 35 years but also owns a farmhouse in Dordogne, France which dates to 1790, a place famous for truffl es, foie gras, duck, and a a wide variety of goat cheeses. He collects ancient cook books as a pastime, whenever he is not travelling to countries in southeast Asia.
