Oprah Winfrey; from Jim Crow to Billionaire tells the story of her being born under Jim Crow and getting past its obstacles with Triumph and Determination. Jim Crow laws mostly in the American South created separation and differences between the African American and Whites.

But despite the those laws created to hold her back as a child Oprah Winfrey was triumphant despite the unfair laws for the African American. With her families help she was able to attend an integrated school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

But her rise to stardom didn't began until she returned back to the South a little before Jim Crow Laws ended. She went to Tennessee to live permanently with her father Vernon Winfrey and Step-Mother.

Oprah quickly became a Bright STAR with her family and community as a News Anchor at 16 years old, Ms. Black Nashville and later Ms. Black Tennessee.

Years later she landed a position in Chicago as a Talk Show host ' The Oprah Winfrey Show'. The show lead to Worldwide Fame, Notoriety, Awards and Accomplishments for Oprah.

The little girl that started out under unfair Jim Crow Laws; Rose Up and became a self-made Billionaire for all the world to see.


About the Author

Daphne Brown is an Educator, Experienced Published Author, Black Historian and Professor. She holds three Masters Degree's from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota/Minneapolis, Minnesota Graduate School. Dual Masters of Arts: Management Health/Human Services Administration & and a separate Masters of Arts; Human Development/Curriculum Development. She is currently seeking to complete a Doctorate; which she is more than half way of completing.

Brown is a Published Author 'Spiritual Healing For a Woman's Soul's (c) 2007. An Empowerment book encouraging Women to 'Live there BEST LIVES' despite obstacles and burdens.

Brown hails from Peoria, Illinois; were she participated and lettered in three Varsity Sports; Basketball, Track and Volleyball. She is a Sports Fan; and enjoys watching most sports.

Brown is the Mother of two daughters; Ashlee and Alaina; and Grandmother of two; Imani and Hunter.

Brown lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she continues to strive for Literacy for African American youth that are socially/economically challenged with equality in Literacy.
