About the Author
Dr. thatcher is the author of several nonfiction books that describe and identify the causes of specific social problems and recommend their solutions. In this book, entitled From Streets to Suites, he employs a distinctive research approach to the study of the contemporary sex trade, as manifested in the cities of Canada’s prairie provinces—a research methodology he refers to as “sociological journalism.” In addition to his descriptive narrative and his causal analysis, Thatcher also offers a series of recommendations for the establishment of a rational, humane and crime-preventive approach to the public regulation of a contemporary sexual services sector in the future.
