About the Book

Effective communication and meaningful relationships are built on listening with all of our senses. To that end, Mark Hickson III he provides numerous personal examples of how to listen and how not to listen in Why Are You Telling Me This? Get answers to questions such as: • In what ways does communication extend beyond correct grammar and pronunciation? • Why is body language so important when communicating with others? • How can you make more accurate “guesses” about others? • In what ways do we assess the people with whom we interact? The author observes that interestingly, most people believe they are good at communication. Most believe that they listen well, although they know they don’t. This is especially the case when we consider that listening is more than an auditory exercise. It involves looking, thinking, smelling, touching, and sometimes even tasting. Join the author as he examines how to improve your everyday interactions with others to relieve stress and achieve better results by boosting self awareness and mastering the art of reciprocity and synchrony.
