Roswell Park Cancer Center is the only one of its kind in western New York and was the site for this research. Chaplains cannot deliver a fair and accurate spiritual care without realizing their most important duty with patients. Not doing so is not only negative but can cause great harm. Sincere, honest, and professional chaplains need to be aware of the highest importance of this tool.

About the Author

Dr. Reninger Flores is native to Peru. He has been working in pastoral ministry in Peru and the U.S. for over 40 years. Pr. Flores holds a Masters in Mental Health Counseling as well as Rehab Counseling from the State University of New York at Buffalo. In 2021 he graduated with a Doctor of Ministry degree with emphasis in Chaplaincy from Andrews University.

Dr. Paul Spitale is native to Buffalo, NY, USA. He has been working in education in the U.S. for over 22 years. Dr. Spitale holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and was a Mental Health Counselor and Case Manager for five years in Buffalo, NY. He holds a Master’s degree in Secondary Education. In 2016, he graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in English Education degree from the University at Buffalo.
