About the Book

This book is a serial collection over the years , a selection of what I think others would like to know about a surgeon - authors life . I was thinking of others all the while I was engaged in this , as I truly believe that each of us gains our life only by giving it away, as displayed by all successful people , and exemplified very best by Christ . I wrote one book on HOW YOUR SURGEON FEELS , hoping the pun was obvious and I would get a lot of entertaining mail . Not so . So I began this book of poetry by relating how on my first psychiatrist’s visit I inadvertently sat in his chair and only after three years when we were friends did he tell me the truth . We’ll see if that changes the mail .

About the Author

Dr.Neely was born and raised in Harrisburg , PA . He graduated from Princeton University and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons . He received his surgery training in Cincinnati and was awarded a research fellowship at UCSF where he became a Professor of Surgery and had a private practice in San Francisco for 40 years. He loves sports and has been a skier , sailer, and tournament tennis player . He has five children and six grandchildren , and lives with his wile Patti in Palm Desert , California .
