About the Book

Rhythmic Syncopation is mainly a large collection of beginner to advanced rhythms, patterns, and beats dedicated to learning how to play the drum set with multi-limb coordination. From start to finish, the exercises in this book are designed to strengthen the student’s ability to play the drum set more effectively in syncopated fashion. The book’s main objective is to help develop a student’s multi-limb drum set playing by displaying a variety of simple to complex syncopated and polyrhythmic patterns, rhythms, and beats while providing an outline to broaden a student’s vocabulary so they can be applied to any musical genre or style of playing.

About the Author

Mike Bangrazi is a drummer/vocalist, drum instructor and author from Leominster, Ma. with an extensive background in playing and teaching various musical styles. With over 35 years of experience, he has performed in dozens of bands, ensembles, recording sessions and countless shows all over New England. Mike is also an experienced drum instructor with over 15 years of teaching at several music stores and studios along with a number of private home students. Mike inherited his musical talent from his father- a respected jazz/rock drummer/vocalist who played in locally popular jazz and rock/pop bands. That early exposure to music and jazz background, along with his own years of experience, has given Mike the musical sense to interpret various musical genres and teach to the learning ability best suited for the student. A good portion of his teaching curriculum is dedicated to learning to play the drums with other musicians in a band/ensemble type setting. The ideas and concepts for the Rhythmic Syncopation book came to Mike within his first few years of teaching some of his advanced students. As these ideas came to fruition, he would give the students exercises designed to develop 2, 3 and 4 limb coordination, organizing them into a constructive teaching and learning format. Mike's original techniques kept expanding and evolving along with his traditional tutorials, eventually molding into a comprehensive curriculum. From there it grew into a large volume of material and a vision was put in place along with the motivation to create his own drum method book. Now the book is available worldwide for all students to learn and enjoy!
