Jonah was your average 15-year-old high school student that not only loved his dogs but, at the same time, hated the responsibility of walking them every morning. He knew his daily responsibilities and upon wakening around noon (which was almost 6 hours past the dogs scheduled walking time) on this Saturday Jonah quickly threw on a random t-shirt and set of shorts and went to go walk his family’s 2 Rottweilers named Max and Stanley.
Jonah was a horror fan of both books and movies and he had gotten to name the dogs whatever he wanted. Max was named after the movie Maximum Overdrive and Stanley for the Stanley (supposedly haunted) Hotel which was featured in the movie The Shining.
While walking his dogs (which had never attacked anyone) this beautiful Saturday afternoon, Jonah saw a man jogging towards him. The man was jogging with his head facing down but when he raised it and noticed the dogs, he chose to take his “exercise run” to the opposite side of the road. This made Jonah smile, as he knew that his dogs were extremely affectionate and not dangerous in any way, unlike his father who had a tendency to remove his belt and beat Jonah for any minor infractions. “Whatever.”, Jonah thought to himself, as he continued his daily task of making sure that the dogs “did their business.”
This afternoon, however, Jonah couldn’t help but to focus on something that had been gnawing away at his mind for the last few weeks. He was getting tired of his father’s punishments which not only he experienced but he also saw his mother get her punishments as well. Both of their corrective lessons were taught at the end of a belt. Jonah’s father made sure to have the buckle-end of the belt do the teaching as he swung it during his fits. Today, Jonah had had enough. Today, HE would give his father a lesson.
Jonah got home after about 30 minutes of walking which was more than enough time to let the dogs urinate on random objects and take the occasional shit. He put Max and Stanley back into the yard and entered the house.
