PROMISE

About the Book

“The manuscript Promise is a collection of prose and poetry written and collected throughout a lifetime, it reflects personal experiences and a “coming of age” in America from the 70’s to date. An assortment of poetic methods and styles were incorporated into the construction of the work in “Promise”. The collected work is previously unpublished, however “Illusions” appears in the 1995 Tallahassee community college literary magazine Eyrie, “The child in you” and “one” appear in the 1996 edition of Eyrie, and “flow” appears in the 1997 edition of Eyrie.”

About the Author

I am a male in his mid-60’s. I’ve traveled and lived throughout the United States, served in the military, and pursued an assortment of vocations. I’ve resided in Columbus Ohio the last 25yrs. While in Columbus I earned a B.S. in Applied Psychology from Franklin University and an A.S in Paralegal studies from Columbus Community College, also while in Columbus I raised my son to college as a single parent. I have traveled overseas twice to the Philippines, Manila and Subic Bay, “Traveling provides me with a sense of freedom, the challenge of new sights, sounds and experiences.” My life goal is “to help people develop the ability to view situations and circumstances in broader perspectives and to craft cross cultural understanding which can be used to help bring about the evolution of our society.” I have written vocationally and personally I have written poetry and prose since my introduction to Langston Hughes in the 70’s. I have a collection of works covering my evolution as an amateur writer and I’m now in the process of producing a memoir. I admire the creative spirit and the expression of emotion found in writing and it is the cornerstone of what I strive to achieve.
