About the Book

This is a true story about the journey of one man’s trials and tribulations. At a young age, he is faced with several obstacles and many types of abuse from his alcoholic stepfather. This included physical,emotional, and mental abuse, which carried on for many years. When the young boy seeks solace, he joins a boy’s group that was led by a family friend. Soon after, he becomes a victim to the man who is a pedophile. When he reached the age of 16, he decided to leave home and was going to face the world on his own. During this time he is introduced to various drugs and alcohol and he encounters a problem with the law. In the meantime, he becomes dependent on mood and mind altering substances. By the time he is 19 years old, he is a full blown addict and alcoholic. This creates many problems for him and he has no stability in his life. He can not keep a job because of his abusive lifestyle. He was then hired by a luxury hotel and strives to improve himself. As he progresses and establishes himself within the hotel, he still maintains his addictive nature. After 3 years of working there, he decides that he wants to go to the west coast. He faces many difficulties in his new environment and within a period of 18 months he became very depressed and suicidal. He comes back to his hometown and is arrested shortly after. He is sent to a facility for an assessment and is told that he suffered from bipolar disorder. Then, it is the real challenge!


About the Author

The writer of this book was born in the eastern part of Canada. He is an avid sports enthusiast and loves the surroundings of nature. He retired from the workforce in 2018, due to medical issues. In June 2019, he relocated to Western Canada and began writing his story.
