… The story of us may be over, but the story of me continues on. And what becomes of me in the chapters ahead, can only be written by me. Anyone who has lived a full life knows that their journey is certain to be filled with ups and downs that must be ridden like a wave until the seas calm again. Shelley Brown shares a look into her heart and experiences in candid reflections that address the challenges, loves, losses, and triumphs we all experience while here on Earth. Her poems explore a variety of topics surrounding the powerful emotions of love and heartache that include the sorrow of losing a loved one, the yearnings of unrequited love, the frustrations that come with toxic relationships, the comfort found in a warm embrace, and the joys of being truly free. Riding the Wave is a volume of free verse poetry that reflects on one woman’s journey through love, loss, and everything in between.

About the Author

Shelley M. Brown worked for years in television and film production before taking on the role as full-time caregiver for her mother who has MS. When she is not writing, she enjoys reading, listening to music, watching television and films, and attending boxing classes at the local gym.
