About the Book

The Quiet Builder is a book about a woman, who from an early age was destined to create hope though a local community development corporation she founded and created for her church. The neighborhood where she received firsthand organizational and leadership skills was her foundation to build up a community, one person and one block at a time. Within the contents, you will find how this first time Author, Janice E. McKinnie, has illustrated her non-fictional work, by detailing how, you too, can build your own Community Development Corporation. This journey and guide have been created for anyone who reads this story to be inspired that they too can be successful and transform neighborhoods into vibrant places where people work, play and live. Fusing together a strong faith-based background, along with educational and work accomplishments, Mrs. McKinnie, continues to expand her horizons, in Buffalo, NY where she resides with her husband and family. In 2014, she launched Developments By JEM, LLC; a certified NYS M/WBE firm, created to assist others with finding success in the world of residential and commercial real estate development.

About the Author

Janice E. McKinnie brings over 25 years of project, construction management and real estate development as owner of Developments By JEM, LLC. She is a graduate of Buffalo State College and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Communication and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Medaille College. She is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson in NY state.
