About the Book
Teenage Prince Maxwell has shipwrecked on the strange Bowyang Island and finds himself on an adventure to find cursed treasure. The chest of King Azurpah contains a bottomless well of gold and jewels. One could empty the chest of all its gold but the chest would refill. On his journey a native of the island, Eddison, joins him. A boy who knows nothing about his past life or how he got on the island. Also accompanying them is the wise thrill-seeking Marinus the Waterbender. These three are not alone on their quest. The island itself is alive with talking trees, gorillas, mermaids and even bloodthirsty pyrates, led by the unhinged Captain Anne Belle. Will the boys claim the never ending treasure? Or will this band of pirates halt their quest at every turn.
About the Author
JESSE TAFEL was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and earned his degree in Writings Arts at Rowan University. He was raised in a loving home that thrived off stories, from books to movies or even oral fantastical stories his father improvised before bed. Over the years Jesse grew a fascination with tales and why people were so drawn to them, especially in their formative years. From an early age to present day, he has never been able to sleep for more than four-five hours but found that making up his own stories lying there trying to sleep helped calm his mind. His love for the ocean and nautical tales had him begin stories of an adventurer called Marinus and then let the dreams take over the rest of the story. Upon waking, Jesse would jot down as much as he could remember from his self-bedtime stories and decided to mold and craft them becoming a writer to share his stories with the world drawing inspiration from the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, Hayao Miyazaki, JK Rowling, Eiji Aonuma, & Shigeru Miyamoto.
