I have always been interested in plants. My grandparents were avid vegetable gardeners, and when they came to our place to plant, I was right behind them.
After marriage, my mother-in-law often came out to help in our garden, teaching me as we went. As our family grew, I had time to take the Master Gardener’s program, and they encouraged us to spread our knowledge to the community. We did, and often.
As a writer and English teacher, I decided to propose a weekly column to the Newark Advocate. They accepted, and it led to 3 1/2 years of weekly columns. The result of that is this book. Understand that the chapters will be rotated as the years go, season by season. Ohio, by the way, has four seasons…..
I hope you not only learn from this effort, but that you enjoy the humor it contains.
