"What's the matter kid, cat got your tongue? Did you forget your name or something? "My name is Jeremiah, wait a minute squirrels can't talk!" "Well, kid that's what I'm doing, so I'd have to disagree with you." Chauncey chuckled. "How is that you can talk?" Jeremiah asked. "I'm not sure kid, but I got a theory. Maybe it's one of those things. What are they called, oh yeah I got it a gift, yeah that's it." "That's what my mom always says about my height, that it's a gift." "What do you know about gifts, you're a squirrel?" "Yeah, but I'm a talking squirrel. Do you see any other talking squirrels around here kid?" "Well, I guess you got a point." Jeremiah chuckled. "You know kid what's really odd? No one has ever been able to hear me before." "Well, why do you think I'm able to hear you now?" Jeremiah asked. "I'm not sure why kid, you just can." "Hey kid I'm starving, you got any food or what?" "I have my lunch for school; maybe I could share some of that with you." "Do you like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?" Jeremiah asked. "I'm a squirrel who lives outside and eats food off the ground; of course, I like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches."
