“Cuando el viento es amigo” es lo que pudiera llamarse un libro que trata de encerrar la lucidez de la convivencia; que mira el discurrir, el vacío y las pequeñas y grandes desventuras de la existencia. Diría que en este acercamiento hay una creíble voluntad de sobrevida y un deleitable regodeo en la realidad que el autor intenta mostrarnos sin adornos. Allí el mundo enunciado es todo real, donde el entorno social se manifiesta, lo práctico es lo absoluto; donde el lenguaje lexicalizado se impone en la edificación de los versos.

About the Author

Héctor Manuel Gutiérrez, Miami, has carried out investigative journalism tasks and contributed poems, essays, short stories and poetic prose, to Latin Beat Magazine, Latino Stuff Review, Nagari Magazine, Poetas y Escritores Miami, Signum Nous, Suburbano, Ekatombe, Eka Magazine, and Nomenclatura of University of Kentucky. He has been an independent reporter for the services of "Enfoque Nacional", "Panorama Hispano" and "Latin American News Service" in the broadcasting network National Public Radio [NPR]. He serves as an official reader and consultant for the Advanced Placement Exams division in Hispanic Literature and Culture at College Board. He is also a consultant for the Bank of Interim Evaluations and Exams of the Florida Department of Education. He studied Romance Languages and Music at City University of New York [CUNY]. He obtained his Master's degree in Spanish and Ph.D. in Philosophy and Letters from the International University of Florida [FIU]. Creator of a literary sub-genre called cuarentenas, is the author of CUARENTENAS, Authorhouse, March 2011 and CUARENTENAS: SEGUNDA EDICIÓN, Authorhouse, August 2015. He is actually giving the final touches to his next two books: AUTORÍA: ENSAYOS AL REVERSO, a collection of essays with diverse themes and LA UTOPÍA INTERIOR, an analytical approach to the essays of Argentinian author Ernesto Sábato.
