Winging Free is a radical departure from today’s mainstream poetry. Rebelling against the current fashion of rhymeless poems, Drew Slater experiments with intricate rhyme schemes and complex rhythms. He calls his meticulously crafted compositions literary architecture. This unusual work offers a wide variety of topics and moods. There are some intensely personal poems, some melancholy, some humorous, some insightful, and some spiritual. There are also some lovely romantic poems, but the real romance is between Drew Slater and the English language.

About the Author

Drew Slater has been writing poetry for decades, but only now has he gathered together all his favorite poems in book form. Mr. Slater is also an expert on horse racing and astrology and has written on these subjects as well. He currently, resides in Portland, OR.
