About the Book

These poems were written to inspire. My life was all but sweet and smooth. I had and still have relationship problems, family drama, and depressing moments. I may be a unique person, but the things that I have seen and lived through, are not. I know that others have been through these things too. I want them to understand how I made it through, because if I can, so can they. I also think that the way I write is unique too, more storytelling than your regular haiku or a descriptive poem. I just write what I feel at that moment, and I have to be inspired to write. There are some funny, some sad, and some overcoming poems in this book, and I know you will enjoy the read.

About the Author

_theshy1, currently a full time retail manager at Adidas. She graduated high school in 2002 and tried college, for a couple of years, to become an actress but it just wasn’t her scene. She was just too shy, so she decided to leave. She was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina as the baby of three children. Her parents are divorced, mom is happily single and her dad is remarried and happy. She is very family oriented, and if she had her way, all of her family would have a TV show of their own, by now because she believes that they are all a bunch of characters. She has been writing poetry for 19 years after her brother was in a pretty bad car accident, during the end of his 11th grade year in high school. He survived by the grace of God. She didn’t realize that writing was a part of her family, until she spent some time in South Carolina, with her mom and grandparents, after she graduated and found some poems by her mother. That fueled her passion of being a published writer, even more but procrastination and pure laziness, overpowered her drive to do so. Then one day she felt tired of wishing, praying and dreaming of inspiring someone that she had never met and she just took the first step and made it happen. Keep an eye out. There might be more coming from here in the future.
