Freefare

Freefare will establish meaningful existence to every American, providing a path to social equality based on governmental benevolence. Full financial support will be given to anyone who decides they can’t or don’t want to work.

Future politicians elected by the entitled majority will be mandated to find sufficient funds to keep their promise of enhanced entitlements growing. These future entitlement politicians, confident in their majority position, will be anxious to impose their will on the American working class. They will force working Americans to accept new legislation and new taxes that require them to step up and accept their full measure of social responsibility. Their rhetoric will sound like this: “Why should anyone be allowed to live in an enormous house with three cars and a boat when there are children that go to bed hungry? The tax rate must be too low if so many Americans can live in such luxury!” These entitlement politicians collectively state, “It is time for the American working class to reach the understanding that they thrive only because the federal government allows them to perform and keep most of what they earn.”

Business entrepreneurs will be forced to endure repeated assaults on their exorbitant profits. The entitled majority will make it clear to all business owners that the opportunity to establish and operate a business occurs only at the benevolence of the government. After all, government created (or allowed the creation of) most of the infrastructure—streets, roads, water systems, sewer systems, and communication lines—upon which the business depends. Without the benevolence of the government, the business would not survive. Government created the opportunity and continues to support and maintain the needed infrastructure. Therefore, it is only fair that the business owners accept their full measure of social responsibility.

The entitled majority will force everyone earning income to give in and take care of the underprivileged and unmotivated. Once the concession is made, the economics of the undertaking will require the process to be completed in the most efficient manner possible. Freefare is the answer—the full manifestation of the mature form of the entitlement mentality. Implementation of Freefare will totally eliminate the concept of being poor in America. Once in place, nothing new will be required to enrich the lives of the needy and underprivileged.

Initial efforts to subsidize the needy, labeled “welfare,” were intended to be governmental assistance for those who were unable to work do to unfortunate circumstances. What welfare has always missed is the means to provide economic support to healthy Americans who cannot find work to match their current skill set or who just do not want to work.

Freefare eliminates the oversight. Just declare that you do not want to work, and you’re in. No need to lie or cheat. Just declare that you want to be taken care of, and the federal government steps in to fill the need. Imagine the votes a future politician could attract with that concept. He could campaign on the slogan: No work and pay! How could anyone oppose that? Financing the program? Think about the millions of dollars that could be saved by eliminating the bureaucracy that currently functions to oversee the welfare system. Thousands of bureaucrats will be eliminated along with their bloated salaries, generous fringe benefits, and enormous pension plans. Freefare will prove that it is far more efficient to allocate funds currently expended on bureaucracy directly to the needy.

Here is how the initial enrollment in Freefare will work. A short visit to the Freefare office will set you up. Just declare that you don’t feel like working, or you can’t find a job you like, or you want more time with your family (literally any reason), and the process begins. Without any type of eligibility questions, applications for Freefare benefits will be simple and easily processed. The Freefare payouts are quickly initiated and begin without any hearings or investigations. No need to show cause or confirm disability or illness. Just complete the forms and become the ward of the state. The federal government will take care of you just like your mom and dad.

The first rule of Freefare is that it will be a totally cashless system. Governmental officials have long known the use of cash offers a high degree of untraceable purchase freedom. Using cash virtually eliminates the government’s ability to monitor, control, and tax transactions. That’s why drug dealers always use cash! Freefare eliminates the participant’s spending freedom by requiring all recipients to repudiate the use of any form of cash. Cash will be restricted to those Americans not participating in Freefare. Once Freefare becomes the accepted American support system for those in need, all cash expenditures will require the user to provide proper identification to prove they are a non-Freefare consumer. Merchants, service providers, and banks will be required to maintain records of all cash transactions and report the use to a federal cash control board. The newly established Federal Cash Use Control Board will be charged with the duty to monitor and control all use of cash and verify that the cash user is an authorized user. No Freefare participant will ever be allowed to hold any cash!

Upon enrollment, the Freefare participants will be required to relinquish all access to cash. They will be required to close all bank accounts and surrender all existing funds in checking, savings, or investment accounts to the Freefare system. In exchange for this surrendering, all existing debt will be extinguished. The Freefare system will pay off all credit cards, car payments, and mortgages, even college loans, everything. Once all the recipient’s accounts have been surrendered, any attempt by the recipient to participate in any form of cash transaction will cause the recipient to suffer a significant restriction of their nonessential Freefare benefits. The Freefare enrollee enters the system without cash but will be totally debt-free.

How then, without the use of cash, will the Freefare system deliver goods and services to the participant? The answer is very simple; all purchases will be made using a specifically designated debit card. Freefare debit cards will be issued to the enrollee, enabling the participant to pay all normal expenses associated with a meaningful quality of life using their debit cards. Suddenly with a stroke of the legislative pen, an entirely new segment of the population will be provided the means to become voracious consumers. Their increased spending power will fuel the economy, generating more jobs and more tax revenue. The financial demands of the new Freefare system will be partially financed by the significant growth in tax revenue generated from soaring economic growth. An entire segment of the population, previously considered an economic drag on the economy, will become a meaningful economic force. Millions of Americans armed with a wallet full of government-funded debit cards will hit the streets ready to fill the stores.
