“No, I’m not threatening you; I’m giving you a friendly warning. Understand, I do not like you at all, Mac, and if you ever run your mouth again and say that one of the Brothers had anything to do with hitting your place, I won’t be held responsible when they come after you.”

I couldn’t believe the audacity this guy had. He was coming into a biker bar that was Mafia owned and making threats towards us. If I weren’t so irritated with him right then, I probably would have started laughing at his stupidity.

“That sounds like a threat to me, Mikey. I’m not going to stand for that from you!”

Tony stood up. “Then you’ll stand for it from me, dickhead. I don’t like you, either. I don’t care that you’re down the street running a bar and taking some of my business because I don’t mind the competition. But, I don’t ever want you to come back in my establishment again and threaten any of my customers or accuse them of something.”

“Big Tony,” Mac stammered, “this has nothing to do with you.”

“The hell it doesn’t.” Tony put his finger in his face and shook it at him. “You’re tending to your business in my bar, therefore its every bit my business. I’m not going to threaten you, Mac, I’m just telling you straight out. If you ever tell the police that someone from my bar had anything to do with those robberies, you’re going to turn up dead in a ditch somewhere. Are we clear on that issue?”

Three of the Blood Brothers who’d heard some of what was going on came up behind Mac and stood for intimidation purposes. When he turned and saw them standing there, you could see the understanding on his face. The guys were there supporting Tony’s decision and Mac knew they were serious, too.
