The Redemption of Honor

What is an average, simple, western cowboy supposed to do with an English lady like Miss Dodge? And what about her propensity for dangerous encounters, such as two kidnappings, a cougar and renegade Indians. This woman gets into trouble so often, that she needs a keeper, or at the very least, a permanent bodyguard. As if a break-away renegade Chickasaw Indian tribe abduction isn’t enough, this young, beautiful gal, who is interesting, smart, sweet, and kind, can’t seem to stay out of trouble. Smack dab in the middle of the day, and even with witnesses, she and her sister are kidnapped right out from under the noses of Ben and Cade Franklin, co-owners of the Bar TR ranch, by a notorious western gang of criminals, who will exchange them for money, unsurprisingly. Once she gets out of one frying pan, she jumps right into another fire. She’s never been through a tornado before, but here in Texas, one targets her. She’s never been in a western town before, but after heavy rains and a cattle drive come through downtown, she finds the muck that consists of mud and cattle and horse leavings. She finds it all over herself, and just can’t help attracting it all to Ben, and he joins in the fray, with a grimy bath, while she tries to reform two drunken reprobates and a prostitute. Her name could be Twinkle Toes when she teaches Ben how to dance, but she disappears from the party never getting to the dance-floor, and is found tied up in the bank. Now, how did she get caught up in a bank robbery in the first place? She makes enemies of another woman on the ranch, the masters gang, a would-be Indian suitor, the general Texas weather, and even has a fiancé who arrives from England to take her back to marry him, this to pay off her uncle’s gambling debts. Now, what woman do you know who can do all this, and at the same time fall in love with one uncomplicated, very attractive cowboy hero who wears a white Stetson, and handles his trusty Colt .45 with confidence?
