About the Book

Have you ever wanted to tell someone something important but didn’t know quite what to say? Have you ever felt an emotion but didn’t know how to express it? Have you ever been all alone? The fact is, we can all say “yes” to these questions, but now is the time to realize you’re not alone and your words do matter.

Poet Lyvia Barrow expresses a broad range of emotions, for adults and children alike, in her first poetry collection, Out of Order in Order. Sometimes grown-ups forget what it’s like to be a child; sometimes children don’t think grown-ups can appreciate what they’re going through. These poems bridge that gap and make us understand each other.

“Something to Think About” ponders what love really means. “Tears” turns sadness into joy. “What You Did” is an ode to people who belong together. These are the words we don’t say out loud. These are the emotions we keep to ourselves, now laid bare. We all have inner struggles, but there is no need to be silent.

About the Author

Lyvia Barrow was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from Prospect Heights High School and has one daughter. This is her first poetry collection.
