About the Book

Everyone has suffered a loss of some kind in their life—whether it has been through death, divorce, or other circumstances. The loss of a spouse (or a child) is impossible to understand unless you’ve personally gone through it. In Even If …, author Deborah T. Ripley shares her personal experiences of her husband’s cancer diagnosis and Ed’s eventual death.

Through a combination of journal entries, Bible stories, and narrative, Ripley tells about her husband’s lymphoma, the treatment, and the grieving process all while relying on God’s strength to help her through this difficult time. In Even If …, Ripley discusses her feelings and emotions, sharing how some days it’s hard to even breathe as she tries to begin life without Ed, discovering what her new “normal” will be.

Ripley narrates her story to show others it is possible to weather the rough times—one hour at a time, one day at a time, one week, one month at a time—you will begin to live, and perhaps, love, again. Even If … serves to inspire and encourage you to find that place in yourself, that courage, that hope, that trust in God that will help you take that first step toward the rest of your life.

About the Author

Deborah T. Ripley has lived in Tennessee most of her life, but recently moved to Georgia. She is blessed with four children, three grandchildren, and another grandchild due this year. She has always had a heart for God and has served in various churches in children’s, youth, and music ministries.
