About the Author

Pavel Luksha Director, Global Education Futures Professor of Practice at Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO Pavel Luksha is a founder and Director at Global Education Futures, an international collaborative platform that helps catalyze systemic innovations in education across the globe through series of visionary meetings and pilots of future education. This project continues the work of Education 2030 Foresight coordinated by Pavel since 2010, which brought thousands of educational leaders into structured dialogues about the future of education. Since 2012 Pavel also leads the Skills Technology Foresight 2030, based on which his group has published the Atlas of Emerging Jobs, one of the most detailed compendiums of new and emerging jobs in the world that covers nearly 200 jobs in 25 industries. Methodology of Skills Technology Foresight has been developed in partnership with International Labor Organization. Besides that, Prof. Luksha is a co-author of the Rapid Foresight methodology, a new method of ‘open foresight’ that has been successfully employed in dozens of projects to develop roadmaps of industries, territories, and specific organizations. Pavel Luksha is a co-organizer and the program director of one of the largest global events on future thinking education, the Foresight Fleet. Also, he has guided several series of hackathons / bootcamps for startup and technology teams, based on his work with future-thinking and perspectives on the future of education. In 2013 Pavel Luksha has initiated the Russian group of Neuroweb, an interdisciplinary council that has brought together researchers and technology companies in the area of new ICT solutions involving brain-computer interface technologies – in 2015 this initiative was officially supported by the President of Russia as one of pillars of the National Technological Initiative that aims to develop an emerging market of neurocommunications. Pavel is also a Professor of Practice at Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO. In this capacity, he was recently responsible for the development and delivery of integrated executive programmes in technological innovation and project management, including companies in nuclear industry, energy, oil & gas etc. Since late 2012, he leads projects on national education strategy within the SKOLKOVO Education Development Center (SEDEC). Since 2015, Pavel chairs Skills Development Working Group of BRICS Business Council, one of the main vehicles that establish collaboration of BRICS countries in skills development. Pavel’s career track record includes experience both in business and academic fields. As a finance and strategic professional, he provided consulting services with such international companies as Accenture, Alvarez & Marsal, and Arcadis Euroconsult, advising Russian and international businesses across a range of industries, as well as governments and non-profit organizations. He also held executive positions with leading automotive manufacturer SOLLERS, and was on the Board of Directors for Zavolzhsky Motor Plant. He also led his own his own startup in HR services between 2006 and 2008. Pavel’s research experience includes research activity with the Institute of Economics of Russian Academy of Science, and with the University of Hertfordshire, UK. Pavel has published works on innovation economics and economics of the firm, strategic entrepreneurship, and system thinking in international peer reviewed journals, including Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Journal of Evolutionary Economics, Journal of Sociocybernetics, Artificial Life, and others, as well as several books. Pavel has graduated from the Higher School of Economics with MSs degree in Economics. He holds PhD degree in Economics of Central Economic Mathematical Institute of Russian Academy of Science.
