The Aspects of a Virtuous Woman

As I began this study of being a virtuous woman, I found there was so much to learn in becoming the virtuous woman God has created me to be. My study took me to Proverbs 31 where it discusses the different attributes of a virtuous woman. What made this study so very interesting is that, during that time, I began to listen more and more to the women around me and what their desires in life were. More and more I began to see many women talking about waiting on their “Boaz”. In see and hearing those comments I began to ponder the thought “why does God wait so long to send women their mate?” Is it the woman? Is it the man? Could it be a combination of both? When reading Proverbs 31 for the first “real” time, I took the scriptures in a literal context and spent my time thinking I had to do precisely as the scripture says. I began tell God there was no way I could possibly become this virtuous woman He was talking about in scripture. I can’t do half of the things listed, i.e. verse 19 “she layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff” (KJV). God had to take me out of my analytical train of thought and show me that the scriptures took on a totally different nature. When I begin to study that scripture I began to see that it didn’t mean ‘spindle’ in the literal since, but it meant that she was a hard worker and did what was needed to make sure her home was well taken care of. As I take you through my journey, you will see where I studied and learned much from different women of the bible who were considered to be virtuous. My prayer is that you learned as much, if not more, about being the virtuous woman that God has called all women to be.
