“Don’t you, as a doctor, have to do an examination,” Leah asked. Knowing that the kiss was a preliminary to sex that evening, and that kiss promising all she’d ever hoped for, was not worried about her future. “You had me nude for the physical when I came aboard ten days ago.”
Mohammed had kissed women before. That was one of the most powerful experiences he’d ever had. He took a moment to return to being Doctor Hasin. “Yes, I don’t know if I can be clinical. You are very powerful.”
She flexed her arm, “Powerful, you have more muscle than me?”
He laughed. “Sexually powerful. Let’s give it a try. To do this as clinically as we can you need to disrobe behind a screen.” He pulled a curtain around the examination table.
“Are you going to examine me through a cloth?”
He laughed again. “No. A woman’s disrobing is often erotic, with out even her meaning it to be.”
“I don’t know that word.”
“What word?”
“Erotic.”
“Your pheromones are erotic. The word means arousing sexual desire.”
“My undoing my shirt was why you agreed to come to my room?”
“No. It did help though. Go behind the screen to finish getting undressed,” he said ironically, “you don’t need any more help. You’ve already got me.”

About the Book
Centuries in the future, humanity has discovered the ability to travel faster than the speed of light. Approached by a friendly alien race known as the Mxtel, Earth soon finds itself a member of the Confederated Sentient Planets, or CSP, with an exploratory arm known as the Federated Fleet.
When the Fleet scout ship Lorili finds itself in distress near the planet Mootoa and its engines and engineers lost—among them the captain’s wife—the grieving Captain Jacob Grimm must approach the CSP member planet in hopes of gaining assistance and finding replacements for their lost crew members. Mootoa is very much like Earth. The people look human—although they definitely aren’t—and they even speak English. Their social structure, however, is very different from what the crew members of the Lorili know. Mootoan women outnumber men three to one, and common thinking on the planet holds that men aren’t smart enough to do anything other than breed. Only time will tell how the mixed-gender crew—and the male captain—will get along on the matriarchal planet.
In this science fiction novel, a scout ship crew from earth finds itself stranded on a matriarchal planet, and its male captain finds himself navigating a new world of gender politics.
