The story of the church begins as Jesus Christ is coming out of the waters of baptism to begin the work of the Messiah, the Christ. We will follow his ministry to the cross, to the establishment of his church, the body of Christ, and to the events that transpired after Pentecost. From there, we will travel through the pages of history to see what has occurred during the two thousand years of the “Christian Age,” and how the believers in Christ have contended for the faith while enduring great attacks from the enemy. From the beginning the devil has used all kinds of deceptions, persecution, murder, corruption, heresies and evil plotting in order to destroy the body of Christ. Nevertheless, the enemy has not been able to triumph in his intent to defeat what Jesus is doing through his church.
