Angie didn't like David Leech. She didn't like Judas Mortdale either, and though she tried to overcome her natural repulsion towards John Henry, she couldn't. But the revival meeting was a spectacular success, and despite the hysteria of the crowd that chanted "Praise the Devil" so enthusiastically, managed to maintain an aura of good clean fun. The police presence and TV crew just added to the theatre as all manner of costumed goblins and warlocks, witches and toady things flocked into the pavilion.
Frank gave a memorable performance and the band worked the crowd into a frenzy of wild and erotic dancing. The wine flowed, the reverend Fred Dagg was duly outraged and a good time was had by all. On top of this, the Church of the Second Son made a tidy profit and plans were soon being made for a return engagement, all of which was what Angie desperately didn't want to happen.

About the Book
Frank Walker was a godless man. He saw no use in worshipping a higher power. However, he did see the power of religion and the way it could take hold over grand congregations. Perhaps that was why he chose to worship the devil, so long as it meant a frolic with Bacchus in the woods, bonfires, wild sex with naked maidens, and tumultuous music. Soon, Frank becomes known as the devil-worshipping prophet of a new religion. He gains a devoted following who await his every word. As he and his followers become further and further debauched by their demonic practices, Frank naively believes he can control the beast he has unleashed. However, Frank is in for an unfortunate surprise. He tells his followers their messiah is coming, but what will happen if the devil truly arrives? Like the mythological Icarus, Frank has perhaps flown too close to the sun. He begins to feel powerless over his followers and the forces he has summoned as events spiral towards their inevitable climax.
About the Author
This is the second book by Raoul Hawkins, a musician and teacher from Australia. Educated in London, New Jersey, and finally Sydney, where he lives, he pursues his love of words through the lyrics to his songs and his very tall tales.
